About The Position

The Porter / Maintenance position supports the maintenance, cleanliness, appearance, and safety standards of Olgam Life’s plasma donation center in the Bronx. The internal Day Porter ensures that facilities meet requirements set by Center Management and the Facilities Manager. This is a full-time, in-person role paying $18.00 per hour, scheduled Sunday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The posting also lists an 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday, with weekends as needed. The role includes receiving and managing supply inventory, maintaining storage areas using FIFO, handling waste including biohazard waste, performing light facility maintenance, reporting facility needs, and cleaning common areas and the exterior perimeter. Local travel may be required; the posting separately lists travel up to 10% or as needed and willingness to travel 25% as preferred.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalency.
Ability to work independently with minimal direct oversight.
Ability to evaluate and interpret regulations and recognize when appropriate changes to business operations are needed.
Organizational skills and attention to detail.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Professional communication skills and ability to inform and report appropriately to center leadership.
Ability to execute multi-step, technically driven tasks.
Ability to travel locally up to 10%, or as needed.

Responsibilities

Receive and manage inventory stock for soft goods and supplies delivered to the center, both critical and non-critical.
Use FIFO to manage storage inventory areas.
Maintain production and employee-area waste, including removing biohazard waste.
Perform light facility maintenance and building improvements, such as replacing signage, painting, and changing light fixture bulbs.
Inform center management of facility needs that may require escalation to the Facilities Manager.
Clean common areas, including breakrooms, the lobby, waiting areas, and the outside perimeter of the building.
