About The Position
Grifols is seeking a full-time Licensed Vocational Nurse for a plasma donation center. The Center Medical Specialist helps determine donor suitability, supports donor well-being, and helps maintain a safe and confidential donation environment. The role is based at a plasma center in Houston, Texas. Salary is based on licensure and experience. A possible $3,000 sign-on bonus is available for candidates fluent in Spanish and English.
Requirements
- Be educated and currently certified or licensed in the state of employment according to state requirements as a Licensed Vocational Nurse.
- Hold current CPR certification.
- Fluency in Spanish is required to qualify for the possible $3,000 sign-on bonus.
Responsibilities
- Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability.
- Build rapport with donors to support overall customer satisfaction.
- Ensure donor and staff confidentiality.
- Inform donors of potential hazards.
- Provide donor education regarding general health and counseling regarding unacceptable test results.
- Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
- Evaluate histories of illness or medication use to ensure continued donor suitability.
- Assist with employee training.
- Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.
