About The Position

Planned Companies Building Services is hiring a Porter I to provide common-area and bathroom cleaning services at a property in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The role helps maintain a clean, healthy, and safe environment for tenants, guests, and vendors. The porter should be polite, respectful, thorough, and observant, and should look for ways to provide a high level of service.

The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. The pay is $18.25 per hour.

Requirements

• Be willing to stand for extended periods.
• Be able to lift 50 pounds or more.
• Have experience in similar roles using cleaning products and equipment to clean floors and carpets.
• Be able to work both on a team and independently when needed.
• Have strong report-writing and clear verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Vacuum, sweep, and mop floors of various types.
• Strip, buff, and wax floors.
• Dust ceilings, light fittings, countertops, and loose furniture.
• Scrub and sanitize bathroom toilets, sinks, and kitchen fixtures.
• Empty trash cans and wash and dry windows.
• Request cleaning supply orders and report breakages and needed repairs.
• Assist building management with projects and perform other job duties as requested.
