About The Position

The Portables Basketball Flooring Associate restores and replaces portable basketball courts, including sanding, painting floor graphics, applying floor finish, and performing routine maintenance. This is a local, onsite position at Praters, Inc.’s Rossville, Georgia location. The role requires working independently and as part of a team, following safe and quality-focused procedures, and maintaining a clean work area. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with required overtime and some weekends. Occasional overnight travel is expected. The position pays $18.00 per hour, includes a $250 sign-on bonus, and offers an eligible pay increase up to $20.00 per hour following a 90-day evaluation. The employer describes this as full-time, direct-hire employment.

Requirements

Must be at least 21 years old.
Must have a valid driver's license and a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen, background check, and TBI fingerprinting for schools.
Must be able to obtain a medical DOT card.
Ability to read a tape measure or ruler competently.
Ability to learn basic carpentry skills.
Good work ethic and ability to produce high-quality work.
Ability to stand and bend for long periods.
Ability to organize work effectively and efficiently, work well on a team, and work independently.
Ability to work overtime and some weekends and travel overnight occasionally.

Responsibilities

Restore and replace portable basketball courts, including sanding, painting floor graphics, applying floor finish, and performing routine maintenance.
Work without constant or direct supervision.
Lift, bend, and carry equipment and materials, including portable panels and other heavy objects; team lift up to 200 pounds with four employees.
Learn to operate construction equipment and tools and perform minor job-site maintenance, including work with saws, drills, floor sanders, buffers, and nail guns.
Follow correct procedures to produce quality work safely and maintain job-site cleanliness as specified by the employee manual or management.
Read a tape measure and make calculations for woodcuts and similar tasks.
Work overtime and some weekends, and travel overnight occasionally.
Represent Praters, Inc. and support its missions and goals while following company policies, procedures, and business ethics codes.
Perform other duties as assigned.
