About The Position

Under general direction supervises, assigns, reviews, and coordinates the day-to-day activities of the Bountiful Police Department Records Division. Manages the maintenance, access, production, retention, and all destruction of police records. Ensures work quality and adherence to established policies and procedures, and performs the more technical and complex tasks relative to the Records Division. Prepares and submits statistical data documenting police department operations and activities. Assists the general public, departmental personnel and representatives from other agencies in obtaining police related information. Supervises, trains, and evaluates employees.

Requirements

  • Graduation from a standard senior high school or equivalent.
  • Must be able to type 50 words per minute.
  • Essential knowledge of spelling, vocabulary, office procedures and techniques.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Good knowledge of all office equipment.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally both orally and in written form.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word), and basic personal computer and office equipment skills.
  • Knowledge of English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
  • Good organizational skills.
  • Skilled in inter-personal communication, telephone etiquette, and in maintaining effective working relationships with subordinates and management.
  • Skill in effectively working with the public and other agencies.
  • Must be able to pass in-house skills testing, background, driving record, drug, and polygraph tests.
  • Must maintain a valid Utah Driver's License.
