Police Records Specialist

City of Beaverton•Beaverton Public Safety Center, OR

About The Position

The City of Beaverton is hiring a Police Records Specialist to support daily Police Department operations. The position processes and maintains law enforcement records, serves as a first point of contact for community members reporting lost or stolen items or people, and helps keep information moving quickly and accurately in a fast-paced environment. It combines customer service with detailed administrative work, including responding to time-sensitive requests, updating records, coordinating with officers, and assisting community members in stressful situations. The Beaverton Police Department Records Division operates 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. Specialists must be able to work day, mid-day, evening, and overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays. Shifts are selected by seniority after probation, chosen in the fall for the following year, and rotate in January, May, and September. Employees receive 8.6667 additional hours per month in lieu of holiday pay. A background investigation is required before a job offer, and the hiring process, including the investigation, will take several months. This is a full-time, non-exempt, Beaverton Police Association-classified position. There is one vacancy. Applicants must complete the City of Beaverton online application, including work history and supplemental questions; a resume or cover letter does not replace the requirement to complete the application.
