About The Position

The Police Dispatcher supports campus safety and operations at Butler University by receiving calls for assistance, dispatching Public Safety officers, and monitoring alarms and video surveillance systems. The role also coordinates emergency and after-hours service requests, manages electronic building access, and provides responsive, professional customer service to the campus community.

Requirements

High school diploma.
Experience using computers.
Ability to obtain IDACS / NCIC certifications.
Excellent communication skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure.

Nice To Haves

Prior work experience in public safety communications.

Responsibilities

Answer and respond promptly to customer service requests for assistance.
Control communications, alarms, and video surveillance to help prevent criminal activity.
Dispatch officers for escorts, building checks, and other general customer service needs.
Speak with members of the public to solve problems and enhance community relations.
Monitor campus video surveillance.
Coordinate after-hours requests for maintenance, housekeeping, or other emergencies.
Distribute keys, IDs, and other items.
Perform other duties as assigned.
