About The Position

The Fremont Police Department is recruiting for the position of Police Communications Dispatcher. This is an entry-level position. The recruitment process involves multiple steps including application submission, typing and skills tests, a Personal History Questionnaire, several interviews, a polygraph, background check, and conditional job offer dependent on medical and psychological evaluations. Requirements

  • Attach a valid typing certificate with a minimum typing speed of 45 net words per minute, dated within the last 12 months, administered by a professional with proctor/agency contact information listed.
  • For online typing tests, the certificate must indicate ID verification and virtual proctor monitoring.
  • Attach a passing POST Entry-Level Dispatcher Selection Test Battery (POST Dispatcher Exam) with a minimum T-Score of 51 dated within the last 12 months.
  • Alternatively, attach passing CritiCall exam scores dated within the last 12 months, including specific scores for Data Entry MT (Audio), Call Summarization 1 & 2, Cross Referencing (Audio), Memory Recall, Memory Recall-Numeric (Audio), Prioritization, Map Reading, Spelling, Sentence Clarity, Reading Comprehension, Overall Non Data Entry, and Overall Data Entry.
  • Complete a Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ).
  • Pass an Oral Board Interview.
  • Pass a Management Panel Interview.
  • Pass a Polygraph examination.
  • Pass a Background investigation.
  • Pass an Executive Panel Interview.
  • Pass Medical and Psychological evaluations.

Responsibilities
