About The Position

Commerce Casino is hiring temporary Poker Tournament Staff to set up and run daily tournaments and registration under the supervision of the Tournament Manager. The role assists with tournament organization and coordination, makes gaming decisions during major and daily tournaments, and supports tournament operations, documentation, rules, dealer compliance, and social media content. The position requires a full-time schedule during tournaments and peak business periods, with overtime as business needs require. Commerce Casino operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and schedules may vary depending on business needs.

Requirements

At least 1 year of experience dealing poker games.
At least 2 years of tournament experience in casino gaming operations.
Knowledge of casino gaming rules, dealing procedures, and casino operations.
Familiarity with staffing, conducting performance reviews, casino progressive discipline procedures, and conflict resolution.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with management, employees, and patrons.
Knowledge of applicable federal and state laws.
Positive and enthusiastic approach to assignments.
Outstanding attendance and punctuality; attendance and punctuality are essential functions of the position.
Clean, well-groomed, professional appearance.
Ability to work overtime as business needs require, with or without advance notice.

Responsibilities

Set up and run daily tournaments and registration under the supervision of the Tournament Manager.
Assist in organizing and coordinating all tournaments.
Make gaming decisions during major and daily tournaments.
Complete the tournament chip and playing card inventory log at the end of each tournament day.
Ensure tournament paperwork is complete and submitted to appropriate departments, including Accounting, Cage, Compliance, and Marketing.
Assist in creating, implementing, and enforcing tournament rules and procedures.
Ensure tournament dealers comply with Company and department policies.
Provide content and information to the social media team in a timely manner.
Keep abreast of tournament events sponsored by other card clubs.
Maintain working knowledge of technological advances in the industry.
Perform other work-related duties as assigned by the Tournament Manager and Poker Manager.
