Podiatrist for Skilled Nursing Facilities
About The Position
The MedServ Group is seeking a Podiatrist to provide care to residents in skilled nursing facilities. The role involves using clinical and interpersonal skills to deliver quality healthcare to elderly patients. The ideal candidate is confident, compassionate, and committed to high-quality care. The position involves one visit per month, typically seeing 22–25 patients per visit for preventative care. A visit includes 7–8 hours with patients plus paperwork. The usual schedule is Monday through Friday, typically 9:00 AM–5:00 PM, with flexible schedules also available. Compensation is available by CPT code or at 35%–40% of collections, stated as $1,100–$1,250 per visit. All doctors are 1099 independent contractors.
Requirements
- Doctoral degree in Podiatric Medicine (DPM).
- Active state license.
- At least 2 years of experience in a clinic or hospital.
- Excellent knowledge of therapeutic and surgical treatments for the lower extremities.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well with elderly patients.
Responsibilities
- Examine patients’ legs and feet to diagnose diseases.
- Treat foot and leg injuries, including fractures, corns, and calluses.
- Refer patients for foot and ankle surgery when necessary.
- Prescribe joint pain relief medication and foot orthoses to improve mobility.
- Advise patients on foot care and general wellness practices.
