Roto-Rooter is hiring plumbing apprentices/service technicians to build a plumbing career while earning and learning. The company provides an initial 12 weeks of paid training, continued instruction in its plumbing school, and guidance through the plumber licensing process. First-year service technicians can expect average earnings of $65,000–$75,000, with pay increasing as experience grows. During training, service technicians earn $17.00–$24.00 per hour. After training, they are paid an hourly rate at or above the minimum wage for all hours worked; rates can vary by pay category. Technicians may also earn commissions of 16–22% of revenue, depending on revenue category, and $10–$139 commissions for selling products and treatments. Apprentices/service technicians respond to plumbing and drain service calls, diagnose problems, provide cost estimates, complete repairs, document estimates and invoices, collect payment, and proceed to the next call. Roto-Rooter describes the opportunity as offering job security, career growth, competitive compensation, flexible schedules, and comprehensive benefits.
