About The Position

National Grid is seeking an innovative, adaptable, and results-oriented Platform Technical Lead for Enterprise Network Services (ENS), part of its Technology & Innovation organization. The position may be based in Northboro, Massachusetts, or Syracuse, New York; candidates may also reside in Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, or Maine. ENS is a global infrastructure technology service-delivery function operating in the UK and northeastern US. It provides high-uptime LAN, WAN, internet connectivity, and voice across multiple technologies at more than 1,000 sites for 35,000 colleagues, with key interfaces including security, property, and critical national infrastructure (CNI)/operational technology teams. The Platform Technical Lead owns the technical journey of the ENS platform, from its current state toward the organization’s future needs. The role is accountable for the platform’s technical health, lifecycle, value, and coherence, keeping investment decisions, service evolution, and delivery outcomes aligned with business priorities, security requirements, and measurable operational value. The position provides technical vision and architectural leadership, governs standards and design, leads modernization and automation, and advises leadership on innovation and strategic opportunities. The role is hybrid within National Grid’s service territory in New York and Massachusetts. Employees may work remotely or from the office as needed; office attendance is encouraged for work requiring substantial collaboration, and the organization supports flexible scheduling. National Grid does not provide current or future visa sponsorship for this position. Salary is listed as $210,000–$246,000 per year in Massachusetts and $187,000–$219,000 per year in Upstate New York.
