  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, or a related field and 12 or more years of relevant experience, or a master’s degree and 10 or more years of relevant experience.
  • Active TS/SCI clearance and ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI with CI Polygraph.
  • Hands-on experience administering and supporting Kubernetes in production, including cluster lifecycle management, upgrades, configuration, namespace and tenant management, resource quotas and limits, capacity planning, RBAC, and troubleshooting workload, networking, scheduling, performance, and availability issues.
  • Demonstrated production experience operating shared platform services such as Elastic and Redis, including version management, configuration, scaling, monitoring, high availability, backup and recovery, and incident response.
  • Experience implementing and maintaining platform security and hardening practices, including least-privilege access, vulnerability remediation, secure configuration baselines, encryption, audit logging, and secrets management.
  • Experience with observability practices and tooling, including metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting, SLOs and SLIs, capacity monitoring, and root-cause analysis.
  • Strong knowledge of Linux-based application hosting, containers, container images, networking fundamentals, DNS, TLS and certificates, and storage concepts.
  • Experience with infrastructure or platform automation and configuration management tools such as CloudFormation, Helm, Salt, Ansible, or equivalent.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain platform risks, tradeoffs, capacity concerns, and investment needs to technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Experience as a DevOps, Platform, or Shared Services Technical Lead, Lead Systems Engineer, or in a similar role.
  • Experience working in an Agile program, especially SAFe Agile.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical leadership and direction for the design, integration, deployment, and sustainment of NDOC mission applications.
  • Work with government stakeholders, Systems Engineers, and the Release Train Engineer to turn mission requirements and roadmap priorities into executable development plans.
  • Own and prioritize the team backlog, breaking features and requirements into user stories with clear acceptance criteria.
  • Guide technical design and implementation decisions to align with system architecture, engineering standards, security requirements, and mission objectives.
  • Lead technical discussions, assess solution alternatives, and help resolve complex engineering challenges across application, integration, and infrastructure components.
  • Balance security requirements, defect resolution, sustainment, and technical debt to maintain platform stability and support long-term system evolution.
  • Identify and manage technical risks, dependencies, and impediments, coordinating with engineering leadership and other teams to resolve delivery issues.
