About The Position

Ford Motor Company is seeking a Platform Software Engineer to join its Enterprise Data Platform team. The role works with engineering, operations, and architecture teams to understand and improve data ingestion processes and develop platform tools. The engineer builds and manages scalable applications and data solutions using cloud platforms, with a focus on GCP. The position encompasses backend microservices and APIs, full-stack integration, and development of frameworks and services for an enterprise data platform. Engineers independently design, code, test, and release features using established software development lifecycle practices, Git, and CI/CD. The role involves building data pipelines and microservices for real-time and batch processing, integrating data from multiple sources, and applying governance and security practices. The position is hybrid, with a requirement to work onsite four or more days per week. Ford states that visa sponsorship is not available and candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

  • At least 3 years of professional software engineering experience.
  • At least 2 years of experience with cloud technologies and services, preferably GCP.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, data engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent as described in the posting.
  • Experience with SonarQube, CI/CD, Tekton, Terraform, GCS, GCP, and Kubernetes.
  • Strong Java programming skills and Spring Boot development experience.
  • Experience designing and developing REST APIs.
  • Experience with front-end development using JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, and AngularJS.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server.
  • Familiarity with software development lifecycle practices and hands-on experience with Git and CI/CD.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; visa sponsorship is not available.
