About The Position

Syms Strategic Group (SSG) is seeking an experienced Edifecs Platform Operations Lead for a full-time, remote position supporting the Department of Veterans Affairs. The role leads the Edifecs application support organization and is responsible for the platform’s operational stability, scalability, compliance, and strategic alignment. It provides technical oversight, manages staffing, drives roadmap execution, and partners with product, architecture, vendor, business, DevSecOps, cloud, and EDI teams. The position is remote within the United States, but candidates residing in California, Colorado, Illinois, Minnesota, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, or Washington will not be considered. U.S. citizenship is required, and the candidate must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI). Applicants selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet applicable eligibility requirements. This is a W-2 position. The lead guides architecture decisions, modernization, cloud scalability, and performance strategy; configures and maintains Edifecs XEServer, XEngine, Trusted Partner Modules (TPMs), SpecBuilder, and related modules; and guides EDI Analysts in building, deploying, and optimizing processing rules, routing logic, and batch workflows. The role diagnoses mapping issues, validation failures, functional errors, and performance bottlenecks; manages logging, JVM tuning, and certificate and keystore configurations; and supports releases, environment refreshes, patching, and upgrades. The position requires strong Edifecs architecture and transaction-lifecycle knowledge, AWS experience, EDI integration and troubleshooting expertise, and the ability to communicate technical decisions and trade-offs to nontechnical stakeholders. Desired experience includes hands-on healthcare X12 transactions, HIPAA-compliant cloud data architecture, and healthcare payer, PBM, clearinghouse, or pharmacy operations. An Edifecs certification is listed under professional certifications, and AWS certification is a bonus. The posting lists a salary range of $109,623–$126,790 and a formal education preference for a master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
