PHC Field Specialist
About The Position
Joshua Tree Experts is hiring a Plant Health Care (PHC) Technician in Tampa, Florida. The technician manages an assigned territory of residential and commercial properties, providing integrated plant health care and pest management treatments. The role involves diagnosing plant health issues, carrying out treatments, recommending treatment plans, building client relationships, and representing the company across Tampa. The technician completes assigned daily work and route objectives, operates and maintains vehicles and specialized equipment, follows safety and compliance requirements, and keeps accurate paperwork and product usage records. The position requires the ability to work 40 hours per week, with overtime and weekend availability as needed.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- At least 21 years of age.
- Valid driver's license.
- Experience in plant health care application services.
- Strong self-motivation, drive, organization, and time-management skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Ability to operate specialized PHC equipment, including spray rigs, backpack sprayers, and air spades.
- Knowledge of how to identify and diagnose ornamental tree and shrub issues and job-site hazards.
- Ability to work 40 hours per week and be available for overtime and weekends as necessary.
- Ability to repeatedly lift at least 50 pounds throughout the day, bend, stoop, and walk up steep hills while pushing or dragging equipment.
Nice To Haves
- Florida Pesticide Applicator License or Pennsylvania Pesticide Applicator License.
Responsibilities
- Complete daily assigned work in a timely and efficient manner and manage a route across residential and commercial properties.
- Meet or exceed daily production and performance goals set by the Department Supervisor.
- Diagnose and treat common ornamental tree and shrub issues and recommend treatment plans to improve plant health.
- Identify opportunities for other Joshua Tree Experts services.
- Build professional, trusting client relationships and provide excellent customer service.
- Prepare trucks daily with the appropriate products and promotional materials.
- Safely operate spray rigs, backpack sprayers, air spades, and other arboriculture tools.
- Perform basic vehicle and equipment maintenance, complete daily truck inspections, and notify supervisors of major repair needs.
- Follow safety rules and regulations for vehicles and equipment and identify potential job-site hazards.
- Maintain accurate paperwork and complete product usage information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
