About The Position

The Production Planner is responsible for developing, managing, and communicating accurate production schedules to support manual and automated lines. This role ensures materials, labor, and capacity are aligned with customer demand while maintaining strong communication with brands, warehouse, and production teams. The Production Planner plays a critical role in schedule adherence, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration or related field (3 years’ experience will considered in lieu of degree)
  • Production Planning and scheduling with BOM Management and inventory systems experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment preferred
  • Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MES tools (e.g., Nulogy or similar systems preferred).
  • Effective communication skills across cross-functional teams and external customers.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain weekly production schedules for manual and automated lines.
  • Build and distribute weekly Clear-to-Build (CTB) reports for assigned brands.
  • Update production schedules based on customer timelines and priority changes.
  • Create ISTOs and enter special notes/assignments for work orders in Nulogy and on production schedules.
  • Work directly with customers to plan monthly schedules and manage line capacity.
  • Communicate priority receiving lists to the warehouse team.
  • Notify the production floor of changes to BOMs, materials, processes, or schedules.
  • Type and distribute detailed instructions for Carlisle and Tracy Lindt rework requests.
  • Attend weekly production meetings with brands and participate in monthly production specification and capacity meetings.
  • Research and resolve inventory inquiries, including customer requests and EDI errors.
  • Manually enter BOMs for customer rework requests.
  • Send monthly MQF/specifications for finished goods to support production spec reviews.
  • Coordinate with the Grainger representative to maintain machine inventory based on Min/Max requirements.
  • Order LPNs for co-pack and warehouse operations.
  • Provide projected wood pallet requirements to the Operations Manager on a weekly basis.
  • Prepare / send weekly schedule Adherence and Attainment performance reports to brands.
  • Create workload projections for production teams and warehouse lift operators.
  • Provide staffing projections to support ramp-up planning for peak season.
  • Complete KPI reporting as a backup for internal and external customers.
  • Complete assessorial billing, including Line Lead billing.
  • Complete assigned Year-End operational tasks.
  • Serve as backup support for creating dockets, scheduling and receiving packaging inbounds, and KPI reporting.
  • Supervising, training and coaching the Production Admin.
