About The Position

This entry-level, full-time position is based at Fastenal’s distribution center at 5851 Guion Rd, Indianapolis, IN 46254. Picking helps move products from the distribution center to company-owned branches. When a branch places an order, the employee picks the requested quantities, packs the order, prints a label with a routing number, and moves the product to the next department by hand or using a pallet jack or forklift. The position may offer a flexible schedule after onboarding and training and after performance goals are met.

Requirements

• Ability to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and occasionally up to 100 pounds.
• Pass the required drug screen (applicable in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam only).

Responsibilities

• Pick orders and pack products efficiently and accurately.
• Operate computer programs, RF scanners, and printers to label products.
