About The Position

Fastenal is hiring an entry-level, part-time Picking employee at its distribution center in Akron, Ohio. The role facilitates the movement of products from the distribution center to company-owned branches. Employees pick requested quantities, pack orders, print routing labels, and move products to the next department by hand or with equipment such as a pallet jack or forklift. The position involves working in a fast-paced warehouse and may offer a flexible schedule after onboarding, training, and meeting performance goals.

Requirements

Proficient written and oral communication skills.
Highly motivated, self-directed, and customer-service-oriented.
Strong math aptitude, attention to detail, and sense of urgency.
Ability to learn and perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
Willingness to work a flexible schedule and extra time as needed.

Ability to lift, slide, carry, and lower packages typically weighing 25–50 pounds and sometimes up to 100 pounds.
Pass the required drug screen (in the US, Puerto Rico, and Guam only).
