The Division of Hematology plans to recruit a junior faculty member into a pivotal role to enhance and extend the strengths of its research portfolio. Currently, the Division of Hematology has several physician scientists who work on sickle cell disease, hemostasis/thrombosis, and vascular malformations. Funded investigators study erythrocyte biology, drug pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, animal models of disease, genetic modifiers of hematological diseases and their treatments, and individualized therapeutic dosing. To enrich this research portfolio, the Division of Hematology will solicit applications from investigators whose funded research intersects with our current faculty members. Areas of particular interest include translational coagulation, vascular biology, and gene therapy solutions for hematological diseases.
