About The Position

This is a Locum Tenens opportunity for a Hematology & Oncology Physician in Martinsville, VA. The role involves providing outpatient hematology and oncology care in an outpatient setting. The physician will see an average of 12-15 patients per day and participate in call coverage for established patients, averaging 2-5 calls per week. The coverage period is from September 8, 2026, to November 22, 2026, with specific needs for 1-2 weeks per month between Sep 8-Oct 30 and the week of Nov 16-22. The physician will work 4 shifts per week, 8-10 hours per day, and will be on call for nights via beeper with a 1-hour response time. The facility has 13 beds in the department, with 3 additional permanent providers available for backup. The support staff includes 6 RNs, 1 APP, and 6 Office Staff. Hospital privileges are required, and temporary privileges are available. The EMR system used is Aria.

Responsibilities

Provide outpatient hematology and oncology care for 12-15 patients per day.
Manage patient treatment plans and coordinate with three established permanent providers.
Participate in call coverage via telephone for established patients, averaging 2-5 calls per week.
Collaborate with support staff including RNs, PA/NPs, and office staff.
Maintain accurate medical records using Aria EMR system.
