Pediatric Hematology Oncology Physician
About The Position
We are seeking a Board Certified Pediatric Hematology Oncology Physician for a Locum Tenens position in Springfield, MO. This role involves providing both outpatient and inpatient care, including clinical duties and call coverage. The position requires a physician trained in Pediatric Hematology/Oncology with a fellowship and relevant certifications. The physician will manage a patient volume of 5-10 patients per day in the outpatient setting and handle 1-3 admissions. Call coverage is required, including nights and weekends, with a 30-minute response time. The facility utilizes the Epic EMR system and has a robust support staff including RNs, MAs, PAs/NPs, and office staff.
Requirements
- Board Certified required
- Licensed in MO or Universal License (IMLC)
- BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications
- Pediatric Hematology/Oncology Trained
- Fellowship Required
- Hospital Privileges Required
- Bone marrow biopsy proficiency
Responsibilities
- Provide outpatient pediatric hematology/oncology care during scheduled clinic hours.
- Manage inpatient pediatric hematology/oncology patients, including during call.
- Take call coverage including overnight and weekend call (Friday 4:30pm to Monday 8am) for 7-day periods.
- Perform bone marrow biopsies as required.
- Collaborate with hospitalists for overnight admissions except for new oncology diagnoses.
