About The Position

Sanford Health in Bismarck, ND, is seeking a BC/BE Pediatric Hematologist/Oncologist provider to join their team. The position involves providing comprehensive care to patients from birth to young adulthood (21 years of age), including physical, emotional, and social health, as well as treating acute and chronic diseases. Care may extend to the intensive care setting and involve assessing, stabilizing, and determining the disposition of patients with emergent conditions.

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. degree.
  • Successful completion of a hospital-affiliated residency Pediatric program accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada.
  • Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/sub-specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable.
  • Applicants who are not board certified at the time of application but who have completed their residency training within the last five years shall be eligible, however must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of their residency training unless the appropriate governing Board waives such requirement.
  • Demonstrate at least 50 pediatric patients in the last 12 months.
  • If a quality profile is not available from the hospital(s) where the applicant currently has privileges, documentation of the applicant’s clinical setting activity for the last 12 months is required. The applicant must be able to demonstrate at least 50 pediatric patients in the clinical practice in the last 12 months.
  • More education and experience may be required the more advanced the practice becomes.

Responsibilities

  • Admit, evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients from birth to young adulthood (21 years of age) concerning their physical, emotional, and social health.
  • Treat acute and chronic disease, including major complicated illnesses.
  • Provide care to patients in the intensive care setting in conformance with unit policies.
  • Assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of patients with emergent conditions consistent with medical staff policy regarding emergency and consultative call services.
