Locum - Physician - OB/GYN
About The Position
This is a locum tenens position for an Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN) physician. The role involves inpatient hospital-based practice, providing care to an adult patient population. The physician will be responsible for a range of obstetric and gynecological services, including deliveries, C-section decision-making, management of complicated deliveries, VBACs, and repair of lacerations. Gynecological call coverage is mandatory. The practice setting is a hospital with onsite labs, ultrasound facilities, and labor and delivery resources. The annual delivery volume is 700-800, with 140-190 L&D triage visits per month. The position requires 6-7 shifts monthly with potential for additional shifts, including beeper call coverage from 7 AM to 7 AM. Midwifery coverage is available for their patients.
Requirements
- Board Certified or Board Eligible by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology
- Active Kentucky medical license or IMLC
- Current BLS certification
- Current DEA registration
- Availability for the specified coverage dates (November 25-29)
Responsibilities
- Routine vaginal deliveries and low forceps delivery
- C-section decision-making and execution
- Management of complicated deliveries, including breech, multiples, and abruptions
- VBAC (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean)
- Repair of 3rd and 4th-degree lacerations
- Gynecological call coverage mandatory
