About The Position

The Physician will provide comprehensive medical care to patients in a correctional healthcare setting, including diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of acute and chronic medical conditions. The role collaborates with nursing and other healthcare staff to develop and implement treatment plans, prescribe medications, and ensure high-quality patient care. The Physician also maintains accurate medical records and follows healthcare regulations and facility policies.

This part-time position is at Athens-Clarke County Jail in Athens, Georgia, for 16 hours per week. It is not a locum or agency assignment. MEDIKO provides healthcare to underserved populations in correctional facilities and partners with jail systems to deliver patient care. Requirements

• Current, valid, and unrestricted state license.
• Current, valid DEA registration, if applicable.
• Active CPR/BLS certificate required, following American Heart Association or American Red Cross guidelines.
• Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical practice.

Nice To Haves

• Board certification in a relevant specialty, if applicable.
• At least 1–2 years in a correctional healthcare or underserved population setting.
• Experience in diagnosis, treatment planning, and providing healthcare services in a managed care or correctional facility setting.
