About The Position

Sanford Health is seeking a board-certified or board-eligible Internal Medicine physician to join the primary care practice at Marshfield Medical Center - Minocqua in Wisconsin. The site is approved by the National Health Service Corps. The position is 100% outpatient, with flexible scheduling, support for job sharing, and a nurse line as first call. Physician call is phone-only and occurs 1:5. The physician will work with a collegial group of physicians and advanced practice clinicians and collaborate with multiple specialists located on-site. Opportunities are available to participate in research and teach medical students rotating throughout the system.

Internal Medicine core privileges include performing histories and physical examinations; admitting patients where applicable; evaluating, diagnosing, treating, and providing consultative services to adolescent and adult patients with common and complex illnesses, diseases, and functional disorders affecting the circulatory, respiratory, endocrine, metabolic, musculoskeletal, hematopoietic, gastroenteric, and genitourinary systems.

The position requires an M.D. or D.O., completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency, and appropriate specialty-board certification, subject to the stated eligibility provisions for recently trained applicants. Candidates must document relevant clinical experience and activity as described in the qualifications. Sanford Health offers a competitive compensation plan and physician benefits package. Requirements

• M.D. or D.O. degree.
• Successful completion of an Internal Medicine residency program accredited by the ACGME, AOA, or Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada; other residency accreditation may be considered through the stated waiver process.
• Certification in the primary area of practice by the applicable ABMS, AOA, or Royal College board. Applicants who completed residency within the last five years may be eligible without certification at application but must achieve certification within five years of residency completion unless the board waives the requirement.
• Applicants completing residency must provide a residency procedure log and list of completed rotations, as applicable.
• Applicants not applying directly out of residency must provide a hospital quality profile documenting clinical activity for the last 12 months, including procedures, morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications, and demonstrate active involvement with at least 50 inpatients during that period.
• If a hospital quality profile is unavailable, applicants must provide documentation of clinic activity for the last 12 months and demonstrate active involvement in the care of at least 50 patients in clinical practice during that period.
• More education and experience may be required as the practice becomes more advanced.
