About The Position

Skilled Wound Care is hiring Internal Medicine Physicians to work as wound care physicians and lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities and post-acute settings in Beaumont, Texas. Physicians evaluate and treat chronic, non-healing, and complex wounds, perform bedside procedures, and manage underlying conditions affecting wound healing. The role includes training in wound care and procedures; prior wound care or procedural experience is not required.

The position offers part-time or full-time weekday schedules, with no nights, weekends, or call. Physicians follow patients through healing, collaborate in skilled nursing facilities, and have clinical autonomy. Compensation is based on per-patient and per-procedure pay, with quarterly bonus programs. The stated average annual earnings for full-time physicians are $250,000–$500,000, with no earning cap as an independent contractor; top performers may earn more than $500,000 through performance bonuses.

Requirements

• MD or DO degree from an accredited institution.
• Unrestricted or clear medical license in the state of practice, or eligibility to obtain one.
• DEA license, or eligibility to obtain one.
• Complete pre-employment confidential DiSC testing and appropriate relevant skills testing.

Nice To Haves

• Internal Medicine physician or hospitalist background; Family Medicine physicians and surgeons are also welcomed.
• No previous wound care or procedural experience is required; comprehensive wound care training is provided.

Responsibilities

• Perform surgical and sharp debridement and other bedside procedures.
• Evaluate and treat chronic, non-healing, and complex wounds.
• Manage underlying conditions that affect wound healing.
• Use advanced dressings and specialized wound protocols.
• Collaborate in skilled nursing facilities and post-acute settings, following patients through healing.
• Lead wound care initiatives in skilled nursing facilities across the area.
