About The Position

Vituity is seeking a Critical Care Physician to practice at Adventist Health Specialty Hospital in Bakersfield, California. This position offers a physician-owned partnership model that provides autonomy, local control, financial transparency, profit distributions, equity ownership, and career development opportunities. The physician will work in an open 10-bed ICU with approximately four encounters per day and an average of zero to two admissions per day. The role may include cross-coverage between Bakersfield Specialty and Delano Regional Medical Center, with tele-critical care coverage shared with Delano and Tehachapi Valley sites. Vituity Hospital Medicine co-manages admissions and runs codes while in-house. Qualified candidates may receive a sign-on bonus of up to $100,000. Estimated annual base compensation is $275,000–$900,000, depending on site, specialty, clinical volume, schedule, and experience; total compensation may exceed that range through partnership income.

Requirements

Board eligible or board certified in Critical Care.
Residency training in Internal Medicine, Emergency Medicine, or Anesthesiology.
A current California state license is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide critical care services in an open 10-bed ICU.
Perform procedures including intubations, central lines, arterial lines, hemodialysis catheters, and chest tubes.
Participate in tele-critical care coverage shared with Delano and Tehachapi Valley sites.
Provide possible cross-coverage between Bakersfield Specialty and Delano Regional Medical Center.
Coordinate with Vituity Hospital Medicine, which co-manages admissions and runs codes while in-house.
