About The Position

The Physician Assistant will support General Surgical Services at Good Samaritan University Hospital and its outpatient facility in West Islip, New York. The position is primarily focused on operating room support, with approximately 80% of time in the OR and first-assist opportunities. The remaining approximately 20% is dedicated to outpatient care, including pre-operative evaluations, post-operative follow-ups, and patient education. The PA will collaborate with seven surgeons, nursing staff, and office personnel to provide coordinated care throughout the perioperative continuum. This is a full-time, non-exempt role on a five-day schedule. Compensation is listed at USD $71.98–$95.00 per hour, with paid overtime and a comprehensive benefits package.

Requirements

Master’s degree in Physician Assistant studies from an accredited program.
Current New York State Physician Assistant licensure.
Certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
BLS and ACLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
