About The Position

As a Physician Assistant, your superior interpersonal and empathetic skills, as well as your comprehension of diagnostic procedures greatly assists in managing and delivering quality treatment plans. This is a Per Diem position in the Palliative Care department, located remotely, with a schedule of days. The role requires strong customer service and communication skills, a compassionate and patient-focused approach, and the ability to work in a stressful environment while making critical decisions with minimal supervision. Exceptional documentation and professional behavior are also essential.

Requirements

  • Experience as a PA in palliative care, hospice or relevant field is required
  • Strong customer service and communication skills
  • Compassionate, warm and patient focused
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action
  • Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Exceptional documentation skills and professional behavior
  • BS: Physician Assistant (Required)
  • PA-C - Certified Physician Assistant - National Committee on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • RPA - Registered Physician Assistant - New York State Education Department (NYSED)

Responsibilities

  • Provide primarily remote care to palliative care patients, responding to triage needs and more urgent concerns through video visits.
  • Communicate with patients and families with empathy and understanding, providing education, support, and guidance related to their care.
  • Collaborate with the palliative care team to assess patient needs, provide appropriate recommendations, and coordinate care.
  • Complete required in-person training and provide occasional in-person coverage for vacation and sick-call needs.
