About The Position

Legacy Health is seeking a Palliative Care Physician whose skill and compassion support its mission to improve life for patients, the community, and colleagues. The physician will serve as a comfort care and end-of-life resource for Legacy Health System and its community, supporting teaching, clinical, and administrative needs.

The physician will assist the Medical Director of Palliative Care with comfort care consultations, education for physicians and staff, project administration, and development of clinical policies.

Requirements

• Graduate of a four-year U.S. medical school or equivalent.
• Completion of a residency in an accredited residency program.
• Board eligibility required.
• Medical license for the applicable state.
• Excellent communication skills with staff, patients and families, and colleagues.
• Excellent documentation, organization, and multitasking skills.
• Aptitude for strategic planning and program development.
• Ability to communicate compassion and empathy.
• Ability to motivate others to meet challenges and succeed.
• Ability to act as a role model for well-being and self-care practices.
• Ability to work well with a multidisciplinary team under pressure.
• Working knowledge of clinical ethics as it relates to end-of-life care.

Nice To Haves

• Four or more years of experience, including experience in leadership of consultations, policy development, and adult medical education.
• Fellowship in Palliative Care.
• Board certification and certification in palliative medicine.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Medical Director of Palliative Care.
