About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital–Nashville is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. Physical Therapy Assistants play a central role in providing compassionate treatment. The PTA assists with physical therapy services and carries out interventions established by the physical therapist to support patients’ long-term goals.

Requirements

• Valid state PTA license.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivery of physical therapy services, including transportation, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities.
• Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs established by the physical therapist.
• Assist the physical therapist with therapeutic interventions addressing strengthening, coordination, balance, posture, endurance and cardiac needs, functional skills, community re-entry, joint mobility, muscle lengthening, and pain relief.
• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, or assistive devices.
