About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronically and critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) supports compassionate, high-quality treatment for patients during recovery. The role assists with physical therapy services and carries out interventions and treatment plans established by the physical therapist to help patients work toward their long-term goals.

Requirements

• Valid state PTA license.
• Possess a Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivery of physical therapy services, including patient transportation, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities.
• Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs established by the physical therapist.
• Assist the physical therapist with interventions addressing strengthening, coordination, balance, posture, endurance and cardiac function, functional skills, community re-entry, joint mobility, muscle lengthening, and pain relief.
• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, or assistive devices.
