About The Position

Sage Group HealthCare Staffing is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) for a travel contract position in Llano, TX. This role involves treating patients under the direction and supervision of physical therapists, utilizing interventions such as exercise, massage, gait and balance training. The PTA will be responsible for recording patient progress, reporting treatment results to the physical therapist, and implementing components of patient care. This includes obtaining data related to treatments, collaborating with the PT to modify care, assisting in patient treatment, helping patients stretch and exercise muscle groups, and teaching patients techniques like balance training. The PTA will also maintain a clean and organized physical therapy area.

Requirements

Physical Therapy Assistant experience: 2+ years - Required
PTA License for the State applying or Compact if applicable - Required

Nice To Haves

LTC experience - Preferred
Prior Travel experience – Preferred
BLS Certification - Preferred

Responsibilities

Under the direction and supervision of physical therapists, treat patients through exercise, massage, gait and balance training, and other therapeutic interventions.
Record patients' progress and report the results of each treatment to the physical therapist.
Implement components of patient care, obtain data related to the treatments provided, and collaborate with the PT to modify care as necessary.
Assist the physical therapist in the treatment of individuals.
Help patients stretch and exercise certain muscle groups.
Work directly with Physical Therapist to assist patients.
Keep physical therapy area clean and organized.
Teach patients techniques like balance training.
