About The Position

Select Specialty Hospital is a critical illness recovery hospital providing inpatient post-ICU services to chronic, critically ill patients who need extended healing and recovery. The Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) supports compassionate, high-quality care by assisting with physical therapy services and carrying out interventions established by the physical therapist. The position is full-time at 218 Sunset Rd, Willingboro, NJ 08046, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., with no weekends or holidays. Compensation is $28.00–$40.00 based on years of experience, with a $3,000 sign-on bonus.

Requirements

• Valid state PTA license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification by the start date.

Responsibilities

• Assist with delivery of physical therapy services, including transportation, therapeutic exercises, and functional activities.
• Implement treatment goals, plans, and programs established by the physical therapist.
• Assist the physical therapist with therapeutic interventions aimed at patients’ long-term goals, including strengthening, coordination and balance exercises; posture, endurance/cardiac, functional skills, and community re-entry training; joint mobility and muscle lengthening; and pain relief.
• Train patients in locomotion using orthotics, prosthetics, or assistive devices.
