About The Position

This traveler PTA role supports a long-term care environment, delivering therapy services under PT supervision. The assignment is a temporary travel position with guaranteed hours and a stable weekly schedule.

Requirements

  • Active Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license or eligibility to practice as a PTA
  • Education: Associate degree in Physical Therapy Assisting
  • Experience: Prior LTAC or long-term care therapy experience preferred
  • Ability to work effectively in a LTAC/long-term care setting and collaborate with the therapy team
  • Strong communication, documentation, and patient safety skills

Responsibilities

  • Carry out portions of the physical therapy plan of care under the supervising PT, including therapeutic exercises, gait training, transfer training, and mobility activities.
  • Assist with patient positioning, safety, and activities of daily living as delegated; monitor patient tolerance and response to therapy.
  • Document treatment provided, patient progress, and any adverse events according to clinical and facility policy.
  • Prepare and apply therapeutic modalities and manual techniques as directed; support equipment setup and proper device use.
  • Communicate patient status and progress to the PT and therapy team; participate in interdisciplinary rounds as needed.
  • Maintain infection control practices, safety protocols, and accurate charting to support high-quality care in a LTAC/long-term care setting.
