About The Position
This is a travel Physical Therapy Assistant (LTAC) assignment in Canaan, Connecticut. The contract is for 13 weeks, with a start date of 08/31/2026. The role involves delivering LTAC level therapy services in a long-term care/nursing home environment. Weekly pay is estimated between $1,718 to $1,794, with guaranteed hours of 35 per week. The shift is 5x8 Days, from 08:00 to 16:30.
Requirements
- State-specific Physical Therapy Assistant license; specifics governed by Job Notes and assignment location.
- Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- LTAC or long-term care experience preferred.
- Ability to work the specified shift (08:00–16:30) on a 5x8 schedule.
- Able to participate in a travel assignment as described.
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care under the supervision of a licensed PT, executing components of the treatment plan.
- Lead and assist with therapeutic exercises, gait training, ROM, strength, balance, and functional activities.
- Administer modalities and assistive devices as trained, while maintaining patient safety and infection control protocols.
- Monitor patient progress, document responses to interventions, and communicate changes to the physical therapy team.
- Prepare treatment environments and equipment, ensure safety, and support discharge planning across the interdisciplinary team.
