Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA)
About The Position
Cadia Healthcare - Pike Creek is seeking a Physical Therapy Assistant to provide skilled care in a skilled nursing and rehabilitation setting. The position administers screenings and comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients and develops appropriate plans of care to restore, adapt, compensate for, or maintain impairments and disabilities. The goal is to promote patients’ functional mobility, abilities, and quality of life. The Physical Therapy Assistant completes required clinical documentation, assists with standardized tests and measures, adjusts treatments to maximize patient benefit, and uses evidence-based techniques, exercises, and activities to support patients’ rehabilitation.
Requirements
- Current, unencumbered, active license to practice as a Physical Therapy Assistant in Delaware.
- Current and up-to-date CPR certification.
Responsibilities
- Administer screenings and comprehensive evaluations of assigned patients.
- Complete required documentation and forms accurately and efficiently, including physician orders, evaluations, and care plans.
- Assist in administering standardized tests and measures during evaluations and periodically, at least monthly and upon planned discharge.
- Adjust treatments to achieve maximum benefit.
- Test and measure patients’ pain, strength, range of motion, motor abilities, sensory perception, functional capacity, and respiratory and circulatory efficiency, and record findings to develop or revise treatment programs.
- Use evidence-based treatment techniques, exercises, and activities to strengthen muscles; reduce pain; and improve range of motion, balance, coordination, transfers, gross motor skills, and gait.
