This role is responsible for treating patients requiring physical therapy. The PTA serves patients by reviewing physical therapist interpretations of patient evaluations and test results; interviewing patients; performing physical examinations; recommending options and courses of action to physical therapists; giving normal growth and development information; and promoting wellness and health maintenance. This position requires patient care.

Requirements

  • Associate's Degree Physical Therapy Assistant preferred
  • Physical Therapist Assistant [State License] - Generic - HR Only required
  • experience completing internship or apprenticeship program 0-1 year preferred
  • Communicating effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience.
  • Teaching others how to do something.
  • Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problems.
  • Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

  • Actively looking for ways to help people.

Responsibilities

  • Observe patients during treatments to compile and evaluate data on their responses and progress and provide results to physical therapist in person or through progress notes.
  • Fit patients for orthopedic braces, prostheses, or supportive devices, such as crutches as needed per site.
  • Instruct patients and their families in appropriate exercise program and in use of equipment.
  • Clean work area and check and store equipment after treatment.
  • Confer with physical therapy staff or others to discuss and evaluate patient information for planning, modifying, or coordinating treatment.
  • Document treatments and notes as needed.
