About The Position
University Physical Therapy is seeking a passionate and skilled Physical Therapist to join its outpatient physical therapy and sports medicine team in Salem, Virginia. The role provides evidence-based care to patients recovering from orthopedic injuries, surgeries, and performance-related conditions. The Physical Therapist works collaboratively with rehabilitation professionals to help patients return to peak function, wellness, and performance. Compensation is $80,000–$90,000 or more, depending on experience, with a $10,000 sign-on/retention bonus.
Requirements
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or equivalent degree from an accredited program.
- Active Physical Therapy license in Virginia.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Nice To Haves
- At least 1 year of experience in outpatient orthopedics or sports medicine.
- New graduates with a strong interest in outpatient orthopedics and sports rehabilitation are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and diagnose patients with sports-related injuries, orthopedic conditions, and neuromuscular conditions.
- Develop individualized treatment plans.
- Deliver hands-on therapy and prescribe therapeutic exercises to restore function, strength, and mobility.
- Educate patients on injury and fall risk prevention, recovery strategies, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with referring physicians and interdisciplinary team members in the community to ensure continuity of care.
- Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in sports medicine and rehabilitation.
