VA Physical Therapist
About The Position
KidsCare Home Health is a therapist-operated home health company providing therapy services to children with special needs in their homes. The Physical Therapist evaluates, organizes, and conducts medically prescribed physical therapy for pediatric patients in the home health setting, directing patients and caregivers in tasks to restore, reinforce, or enhance performance. The role includes patient evaluation and treatment, family and caregiver training, care coordination, communication with physicians, recordkeeping, and collaboration with colleagues. Requirements
- Master’s degree in Physical Therapy.
- Current state-issued professional license.
- Valid state driver's license.
- CPR certification.
- Ability to read and write simple correspondence and speak effectively in small groups.
- Strong critical-thinking skills.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret instructions and solve practical problems involving a variety of concrete variables.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, recordkeeping, and routine database activities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Ability to lift at least 25 pounds.
- Ability to perform the physical activities of the role, including standing, walking, reaching, sitting, kneeling, crawling, and strenuous therapy activities.

Responsibilities
- Examine, evaluate, and administer remedial treatments for pediatric patients.
- Provide screenings, evaluations, direct treatment, and family or caregiver training and counseling regarding patient status, progress, goals, home programming, and discharge planning.
- Coordinate patient care with office staff and other disciplines.
- Communicate with pediatric patients and families about progress, problems, home programs, and other matters related to the therapeutic process.
- Refer patients and family members to appropriate professionals, agencies, services, and resources.
- Consult with physicians about patient progress and maintain appropriate records.
- Maintain supplies and equipment.
- Perform internal and external public education, including periodic in-service presentations when applicable.
- Participate in the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program.
- Attend continuing education activities and expand scope of service.
- Maintain an adequate caseload with appropriate productivity.
- Participate in team efforts to achieve company and departmental goals.
- Share knowledge and skills with colleagues.
- Mentor students and new hires.
- Participate in professional organizations and activities.
- Use initiative and independent judgment in performing job responsibilities.
- Provide backup services for other caseloads as needed.
- Comply with company policies, practices, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
