About The Position

UF Health Rehabilitation Hospital - North, affiliated with Select Medical, is seeking a per diem Physical Therapist in Jacksonville, Florida. The inpatient rehabilitation hospital provides care for people facing medical, physical, emotional, and vocational challenges related to brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The position pays $54.00 per hour and offers a $5,000 sign-on bonus. The hospital provides an extensive orientation program and notes that strong performance may lead to potential full-time opportunities. Part-time and per diem employees may qualify for a 401(k) after reaching 1,000 hours within their first anniversary or a subsequent calendar year, and part-time employees have access to an employee assistance program.

Requirements

• Hold a current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT).
• Possess Certified BLS or obtain it within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform initial and ongoing systematic patient assessments.
• Promote continuous quality improvement.
• Teach and counsel patients and families.
• Set goals and develop treatment plans.
• Work cooperatively to identify and solve patient-specific and facility-wide needs.
• Participate in discharge planning for each patient, including placement, patient and family education, and adaptive equipment.
• Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and PT and PTA students.
• Conduct individual patient therapy regimens.
• Monitor patients' responses to treatment and modify treatment during sessions as needed.
• Complete appropriate documentation according to department policies and procedures.
• Participate in departmental, hospital, and community continuing education seminars and in-services.
