Physical Therapist (Per Diem)
About The Position
The Shores, a United Methodist Communities senior living community in Ocean City, New Jersey, is hiring a per diem Physical Therapist for $60 per hour. The community provides independent living, assisted living, memory care, and skilled nursing with short-term rehabilitation on one campus. Patients include people recovering after a hospital stay and long-term residents working to rebuild strength and maintain their independence. The role involves assessing residents, developing personalized therapy plans, delivering skilled physical therapy, documenting evaluations and progress, and coordinating care with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team. The therapist practices according to professional standards, facility guidelines, and applicable New Jersey regulations. This is a per diem role with flexible daytime scheduling, up to 40 hours per week based on availability. Weekend hours are optional. A negative pre-employment drug screening, background check, and flu vaccination are required; medical and religious exemptions to the flu vaccination are considered.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited physical therapy program.
- Active New Jersey physical therapist license.
- Prior experience treating adults in a sub-acute and/or home care setting.
- Able to produce a negative drug test.
- Subject to a background check.

Responsibilities
- Assess residents and develop personalized therapy plans that support mobility, function, and quality of life.
- Deliver skilled therapy services focused on improving strength, balance, movement, and daily independence.
- Maintain accurate documentation of evaluations, treatment sessions, and resident progress.
- Partner with nurses, caregivers, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate resident care.
- Share updates on goals and progress with residents, families, and care team members as appropriate.
- Practice in accordance with professional standards, facility guidelines, and applicable state regulations for physical therapy services in New Jersey.
