About The Position

The Physical Therapist plans, organizes, develops, and directs the facility’s Physical Therapy Services in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations to maintain the highest degree of quality care. The role is based at The Center at Waterfront, a skilled nursing facility providing physical rehabilitation and complex nursing care in Wichita, Kansas.

The facility provides individualized, physician-driven care in a hotel-like environment. Its services include skilled nursing, family involvement, psychological care, and discharge planning to support patients in reaching their highest functional level.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy required.
• Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist.
• Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions, and accept constructive criticism.
• Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
• Good judgment and ability to maintain highly confidential information.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance and requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Master’s or Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy preferred.
• At least one year of experience in a skilled nursing facility preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meet with administration, medical and nursing staff, other related departments, patients, and families when planning therapy services.
• Assist in developing, implementing, and coordinating individual patient care plans in conjunction with patient assessments.
• Explain physical therapy procedures to patients, prepare necessary equipment, and reassure patients before and during treatment.
• Determine proper equipment usage, application, and body position; make adjustments when necessary during physical therapy treatments.
• Recommend changes to a patient’s therapy program based on evaluation of progress.
• Ensure therapy notes are informative, descriptive, and consistent with company policies and procedures.
