About The Position
Rehab Associates, partnered with Barren Ridge PT, is hiring a Physical Therapist for its outpatient clinics in Central Virginia. The role assesses patients, develops individualized treatment plans, delivers physical therapy, and documents patient care and progress. Physical Therapists are responsible for care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians and communicate with patients, caregivers, physicians, and insurance companies. Requirements
- Graduate of a CAPTE-accredited Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) or Physical Therapy program.
- Current Virginia Physical Therapist license, or eligibility to obtain one before employment.
- Current CPR certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
- Ability to develop and implement individualized treatment plans in an outpatient setting.
- Ability to work independently while managing a diverse patient caseload.
- Strong communication, clinical reasoning, and patient education skills.
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems and standard Microsoft Office applications.
Nice To Haves
- Experience or interest in outpatient orthopedic care, including balance and vestibular rehabilitation.
Responsibilities
- Assess patients and develop and initiate treatment plans based on evaluation results.
- Review physician referrals, patient conditions, and medical records to determine appropriate physical therapy treatment.
- Provide direct patient care according to established protocols and patient care guidelines.
- Document findings, progress, and instructions for patients and caregivers.
- Be responsible for patient care performed by assistants and rehabilitation technicians.
- Complete written plans of care and develop goals and comprehensive programs based on evaluation findings.
- Implement physical therapy treatment programs and provide essential physical therapy treatments.
- Communicate effectively with patients, caregivers, professional colleagues, physicians, and insurance companies.
- Complete timely daily notes, weekly workers' compensation reports, progress reports, initial evaluations, discharge summaries, and incident reports.
