The Physical Therapist II is an independent clinician providing professional physical therapy services in an outpatient setting using advanced clinical reasoning. The role serves as a resource to entry-level staff, provides clinical oversight of Physical Therapist Assistants (PTAs), contributes to program development, and ensures high-quality patient care consistent with departmental and regulatory standards. The position provides outpatient therapy during assigned shifts, performs evaluations and re-evaluations, updates treatment plans and goals in collaboration with physicians as appropriate, and delivers evidence-based interventions tailored to each patient's diagnosis, learning needs, and age. It also involves compliant electronic medical record documentation, patient and caregiver education, interdisciplinary communication, mentorship, and participation in quality improvement and professional development activities. The role requires a bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy or equivalent, a current California Physical Therapy license, and current Basic Life Support certification. At least one year of professional Physical Therapy experience is required, though advanced certification may substitute for experience. Prior outpatient experience is strongly preferred. The position is full-time, day shift, and may require occasional weekend or holiday coverage.
