About The Position

The Physical Therapist Center Director provides rehabilitative services to disabled, injured, and diseased patients while leading therapy staff at a Concentra center. The role aligns patient care with Concentra Medical Centers’ Injury Process Management, its occupational medicine rehabilitation philosophy, and applicable policies, practices, and regulations. The director spends all working time in a center providing direct patient care and modeling an exceptional patient experience, while overseeing clinical quality, workflows, staffing, colleague development, client relationships, and center business outcomes.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science or advanced degree in Physical Therapy, such as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, from an accredited college or university.
• Meet the licensure requirements of the jurisdiction.
• Customarily at least two years of demonstrated clinical experience.

• Ability to make decisions or solve problems using logic to identify key facts, explore alternatives, and propose quality solutions.

• Outstanding clinical knowledge of physical and occupational therapy services.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in the center, lead by example, and create an exceptional patient experience.
• Manage clinical center metrics related to quality outcomes and hold therapists accountable.
• Consistently demonstrate the components of the Physical Therapy Guidebook and the Perfect PT visit.
• Manage clinical outcomes and address outlier cases with staff therapists.
• Ensure clinical workflows optimize patient capture, referral processing, and scheduling.
• Execute therapy plans with a focus on early intervention and same-day evaluation.
• Create a professional, collaborative environment that promotes teamwork, quality, exceptional outcomes, and patient safety.
• Work with DTO to identify clinical improvement opportunities.
• Build relationships with employers, referral sources, and payer groups through routine communication and engagement.
• Use clinical systems to support efficient documentation, appropriate coding, charge capture, and follow-through on patient care orders.
• Ensure compliance with state practice acts, rules and regulations, and workers’ compensation regulations.
• Drive patient and client experience and satisfaction metrics.
• Participate in CLT meetings with COD and CMD to improve quality and patient safety, manage outliers, and support center business growth.
• Maintain relationships with center clients and payers and respond to requests within 24 hours.
• Work with DTO and CLT to manage clinical and support staffing levels and proficiencies.
• Promote and exemplify Orange Book values for center colleagues.
• Develop staff therapists and PTSS throughout the colleague talent lifecycle.
• Foster collaboration, professionalism, safety, quality care, continuous improvement, and recognition.
• Promote collaboration within CLT and across disciplines to achieve clinical and business outcomes.
• Understand and provide input on center financial drivers and outcomes to support the annual business plan.
• Promote center initiatives and workflows consistent with those of other centers.
• Provide input to the center budget and key business metrics.
