Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Full-Time
About The Position
Independence Rehab is seeking a compassionate Physical Therapist Assistant to help older adults regain mobility, confidence, and independence. The PTA will work with residents navigating recovery, chronic conditions, and life transitions, providing therapy in a clinically meaningful, relationship-driven, and collaborative setting. The role serves a medically complex geriatric population at Everett Transitional Care Services and Bethany at Pacific, located on separate floors of Providence Regional Hospital in Everett, Washington. The position offers mentorship and structured onboarding for new graduates as well as support for experienced clinicians. The therapist-owned company emphasizes clinician advocacy, clinical judgment, realistic productivity expectations, flexible scheduling, and autonomy in care decisions. The PTA collaborates with a physical therapist and other care professionals to support resident recovery and functional outcomes.
Requirements
- Active state PTA license in good standing.
- Graduate of an accredited PTA program.
- Interest in geriatric care and functional outcomes.
Nice To Haves
- Skilled nursing facility (SNF) experience is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Guide residents through mobility milestones, including taking first steps, performing safe transfers, and returning home.
- Lead gait, balance, strengthening, and functional training sessions.
- Help reduce fall risk and build residents’ confidence with daily activities.
- Collaborate with the physical therapist to adjust care plans.
- Work with nursing, occupational therapy, and speech therapy to support whole-person recovery.
- Provide therapy to a medically complex geriatric population at Everett Transitional Care Services and Bethany at Pacific.
