About The Position
LTC Therapy Services is hiring a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant for a skilled nursing rehabilitation role in Lowell, Massachusetts. The PTA helps residents practice essential movements, build activity tolerance, and work toward recovery goals established by the supervising Physical Therapist. The role involves providing treatment according to individualized plans of care, supporting safe mobility, monitoring residents’ responses, documenting treatment, and coordinating with nursing and rehabilitation staff. Therapy leadership and collaboration with the care team are available.
Requirements
- Active Massachusetts Physical Therapist Assistant license.
- Ability to follow established treatment plans and resident-specific precautions.
- Strong observation, communication, and documentation skills.
Nice To Haves
- Skilled nursing experience is a plus; new graduates are welcome to apply.
Responsibilities
- Provide treatments outlined in residents’ individualized physical therapy plans of care.
- Guide therapeutic exercises addressing strength, balance, and endurance.
- Work with residents on walking, bed mobility, and transfers, with assistance tailored to each resident’s needs.
- Reinforce safe movement techniques and proper use of prescribed mobility devices.
- Monitor comfort, fatigue, and functional performance, and report changes to the supervising Physical Therapist.
- Maintain clear treatment documentation.
- Coordinate with nursing and rehabilitation staff to support daily mobility routines.
