About The Position
Bishop Care Center is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) to join their rehabilitation team. This is an opportunity to work in a collaborative skilled nursing facility environment focused on delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist, the PTA provides direct resident care and assists in implementing individualized treatment plans to improve mobility, function, and overall quality of life.
Requirements
- Current California Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) license required
- Graduate of accredited PTA program
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Ability to maintain compliance with all state and federal regulations
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in skilled nursing facility (SNF) preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide treatment to residents as directed by Physical Therapist
- Assist in implementing individualized therapy care plans
- Complete timely, accurate, and compliant documentation per regulatory and facility requirements
- Maintain safe treatment environment, adhering to infection control and safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team, including therapists, nursing staff, physicians, and families regarding patient progress
- Participate in care plan meetings and rehabilitation conferences as needed
- Educate residents and families on therapy goals, exercises, safety, and discharge planning
- Assist with training restorative aides and supporting facility therapy programs
